İnteresting facts about HR

First idea of labor and human resources organization have been brought by an American Frederick Taylor at the end of 19th century.  He saw the inefficiency of labor in the workshops, which encouraged him to investigate the time needed for work. He believed that work conditions need to be such so they enable cooperation between workers and managers in order to increase productivity. Thereof he has not overlooked that, in such case, the worker must be stimulated to increase productivity. His ideas can be summarized in four basic principles: Work design, Workers selection and education, Workers motivation and Separation of planning from execution.

He is regarded as the "Father" of the Scientific Management & Efficiency Movement and was one of the first management consultants.

... Beginnings of studying the organizations were found among the Egyptians and Babylonians, who had to have certain knowledge about the organization, accumulated throughout generations to build monumental acts such as pyramids, temples, etc. It is assumed that the ancient Egyptians recorded their experiences of building such large buildings that have been built for long time (Cheops pyramid was built by 100,000 people over 200 years). First written traces of these projects are located in Hammurabi’s code where certain outlines of social organization are provided.
